This mattress topper is great for what I paid. I have had it almost a month now and it has definitely helped with my back pain as well as stiffness in the morning. However, you get what you pay for. The center of the pad has already started to deteriorate quite a lot. My mattress is very firm and I am a side sleeper with rather large hips in proportion to the rest of me. I purchased this hoping to give my curves somewhere to sink into so that my spine would be straight while I slept. The first few nights were great, but after a month I am already starting to feel my rock hard mattress under the pad. As for the problems so many others said they had, i.e. the pad being very hot to sleep on, having a funny smell, and being the wrong size... The pad does keep your heat in more than just a sheet and mattress would, but not enough to be uncomfortable, at least for me, and yeah it smells like plastic if you stick your face into it without a sheet on it, it is plastic foam after all, and if you measure your bed and look at the measurements online for the product, you will know if it will fit your bed. I did have to cut a few inches off the end to make it fit and there is about an inch and a half on either side of the bed where the pad doesn't cover, so if you sleep on the very edge of your bed, this might not be for you. Overall I am happy with my purchase, but the pillows are a joke (they are shredded odds and ends of the pads in a pillow case) so if that is what you are looking for don't purchase this, the title is very misleading as the pillows are the first thing they list, making it sound like that is the main thing you are buying.

Bought a brand new mattress that was ROCK HARD. Bought the memory foam based off other reviews and it has been a savior. Just enough for cushion but not too much to lose support. Took a day or so to air out - still had a bit of the foam smell, but put mattress pad over the foam. Much more comfy and a very affordable fix.
